The Myth of Waldwitch, Goddess of Magick
By Tom LaPorte
At the dawn of the age of diligent gods,
Twelve beings were crafted from cosmic mire and spatial sewage--
The building blocks of an infant universe.
Among these new gods was a goddess named Waldwitch,
Who catatonically fell into existence,
Resembling a premature baby in need of an incubator.
And so, the mother of creation laced unique cosmic energy into Waldwitch,
To help the new babe live.
This energy would later be called magick.
And with the crackling of thunder and lightning,
The goddess of magick, imagination, and sex was born.
And she had a gift to bestow upon humanity.
In the early developmental stages of humanity,
When human genetics and chromosomal setups where being structured,
An assembly of the twelve gods took place in the underworld,
To discuss the course of humankind.
Diotombs, god of the underworld,
Argued humans need be lesser beings in comparison to the gods.
While Eurogon, gods of the heavens,
Argued for intelligent beings who could one day replace the gods.
But they both agreed on one aspect:
Imagination and fiction could not be part of the rational world.
Realizing this, Waldwitch approached humanity in its microscopic stage,
pushed away her white lace veil from her azure eyes,
And defied the gods.
Waldwitch removed her cosmic gift,
The gift which kept her alive,
And sprinkled it into the genepool of humanity.
This ensured a fraction of mankind would have innate imagination and magick
Coursing through them.
The gift of Waldwitch, a genetic trait, could be passed through generations,
Passed through sexual reproduction.
As long as humans reproduced, Waldwitch would live on.
She is them, and they are her.
